Argentina's penalty against Croatia is in doubt

 Argentina's penalty situation against Croatia was suspected to be unreasonable, helping Lionel Messi to successfully make the home team lead 1-0 in an important match.

This morning (December 14), the first World Cup 2022 semi-final between Argentina and Croatia took place. After more than 30 minutes of silence, the turning point of the game came in the 34th minute, when the referee awarded Argentina a penalty after goalkeeper Livakovic's foul on Alvarez in the penalty area. On the 11m mark, Lionel Messi did not make a mistake to have the opening goal of the match.


Just 5 minutes later, Messi and his teammates continued to enjoy the joy when they got the second goal from Alvarez. In the second half, the 22-year-old striker completed his double when scoring a 3-0 victory for Argentina , thereby officially winning a ticket to the final with his teammates.



After the match ended, controversy broke out around the situation where Croatia was blown 11m. Many fans and experts confirm that Livakovic has never fouled Julian Alvarez. Even Croatia's coach Zlatko Dalic expressed his displeasure, even he was "doubtful" about this decision of the referee.


“We played well for 30 minutes and we have everything in our hands. However, my team conceded a suspicious goal. The referee easily gave them a penalty in the situation where Croatia had to win a corner earlier ,” said Dalic.

“Livakovic goalkeeper just does what he has to do and this is the new law on penalties? They have to tell us. This goal turned the game in a different direction . "


However, the 56-year-old strategist still praised his students for fighting with all their might. “I can't blame my boys for anything. We controlled the game for the first half hour, but then we conceded a goal after that penalty."

“Sometimes luck favors you, sometimes it turns against you in a different way. From what I understand, the boys oppose the corner kick. We conceded a goal from that action. But we lost the game and I have nothing to complain about ," the coach emphasized.
